The only way i can describe yesterday and my evening having drinks with my old friend W. and his girlfriend which was the culmination of one of the most awesome days the cream-on-the-top of the most amazing cake you can imagine (which would be an orange and coconut triple level) was like the entirety of the novel "A Wrinkle in Time" i don't remember everything about it (the book and our conversation) and the day spent checking out locations, almost meeting up with a model for a shoot later in the week, trying on this amazing coat in the Mission District driving over Portero and ending up in Monterey at midnight...but it was something like (that) ;)
"A Wrinkle in Time is the story of Meg Murry, a high-school-aged girl who is transported on an adventure through time and space with her younger brother Charles Wallace and her friend Calvin O'Keefe to rescue her father, a gifted scientist, from the evil forces that hold him prisoner on another planet. At the beginning of the book, Meg is a homely, awkward, but loving girl, troubled by personal insecurities and her concern for her father, who has been missing for over a year. The plot begins with the arrival of Mrs. Whatsit at the Murry house on a dark and stormy evening. Although she looks like an eccentric tramp, she is actually a celestial creature with the ability to read Meg's thoughts. She startles Meg's mother by reassuring her of the existence of a tesseract--a sort of "wrinkle" in space and time. It is through this wrinkle that Meg and her companions will travel through the fifth dimension in search of Mr. Murry."

Anita Berber...itenef - the sound of sexy machines
Anita Berber (June 10, 1899 - November 10, 1928) was a German dancer, actress, writer, and prostitute who was the subject of an Otto Dix painting. She lived during the Weimar period.
"She wore heavy dancer's make-up, which on the black and white photos and films of the time came across as jet black lipstick painted across the heart-shaped part of her skinny lips, and charcoaled eyes."
"Berber's cocaine addiction and bisexuality were matters of public chatter. She was allegedly the sexual slave of a woman and the woman's 15-year-old daughter. She could often be seen in Berlin's hotel lobbies, nightclubs and casinos, naked apart from an elegant sable wrap, with a pet monkey and a silver brooch packed with cocaine."
Afterglow in a distant row The door is open and the lights are cold The children come in here and they dare the ghost Like a fire burning in a stone Ah Silent light in the theatre's sky Phantom cigarette and a silent cry The door swings open and it's cold outside Run and hide, run and hide Ah, ah
They can still see him singing on the corner singing songs That never fade away, fade into the kids that come along
Memory in a silent seat Melody on a long retreat Like an angel on a balcony Like an angel on a balcony Ah, ah, ah, ah

"...Its sponsored by SF APA and Apple and admission is free. I'll be talking about commercial photography cuz it's an APA event, but plan on focusing the talk on the importance of personal work, finding one's voice and the power of community...all this touchy feely stuff that has absolutely nothing to do with spreadsheets, data bases, or digital workflow."
