I had a moment like this last night at a party. A woman from my class was there who is an amazing person. I've been struggling badly with how I feel about her and 5 or 6 people (including her) asked if I was ok . It was written all over my face that something was bothering me, but of course I couldn't say anything.

I love the Smiths. It really does feel like they speak to me.

The Smiths - I Want The One I Can't Have (Paris)

thanks for the video suparni

a few years ago...test strip;)

Crop of a 6 x 4.5 negative I didn't use the *glass plates, thanks Richard for that pointer. When I got this enlarger a couple months ago I was dissapointed and stopped enlarging medium format negatives after a couple tries because I thought I had to use the glass plates - it was so hard getting them clean, I didn't even try really. * update: actually its hard to keep them flat and so I took the time and cleaned the glass holders.

Let's keep the momentum going! Please sign up for this gathering right away!

Message from your host, Sara B.: Stand up against the Republican Budget Cuts and California state cuts!! Last night, Wisconsin Republicans rammed through their attack on workers' rights in a shameful and probably illegal power grab.

Republicans in Idaho and Ohio have already voted for similar anti-worker bills like the one i...(more)n Wisconsin. And nationally, the GOP budget would gut health care, environmental protections, housing assistance, food aid, and more. It's insaneand a direct assault on the American Dream.

We need to take our cues from the brave people in Madison and stand up to say "No More!"

We have to stand up right now and defend ourselves against attacks on the American Dream.

We have until the March 18 budget deadline to push Congress in another direction. Our previous rallies in solidarity with Wisconsin were a reminder of how powerful we are when we stand up togetherand now's the time for us to rise up against a budget that takes from the middle classinstead of asking the Koch Bros. and BP to pay their fair share.

We need to stand up before the March 18th budget deadline, to give our progressive fighters in Congress a better chance to stave off cuts and pass a budget that invests in the Dream. We'll show our support for the public workers, services, and institutions making a difference in our livesbut we'll also make sure that Congress knows we'll hold them accountable for their vote. To keep the pressure on during the March 21 congressional recess, we'll deliver photos and notes from our rally to our state and federal representatives that week.

Obama's Tendency To Embrace "The Man"

from "Protest at Panetta Institute" (see next post below)

A very rough paraphrase of Mike Papantonio; a guest this morning on The KRXA Morning Show...

We misjudged Obama - FDR understood the power-elite-thugs and the class system...

Obama came from the outside looking in...(Papantonio's theory) thus psychological Obama might have this tendency to embrace "THE MAN" and assume kinship - that he is one of them...

On the other hand F.D.R. : "Every monied interest hate me and i embrace that!

Obama simply does not have that strength...

They also discussed "mainstream media" and how Ronald Reagan began the dismantling of the Fairness Doctrine...
